Via Satellite (1998) -- Paul (Karl was in this movie with Danielle Cormack. I got to see it at the St. Louis Film Festival. It was very good. It is set in New Zealand. It's one of those dysfunctional family movies. Danielle played Chrissy, a girl at odds with her family because of a secret that came out at her father's death. But it turns out that her father didn't tell the whole story and everything comes to a head at the same time the family is celebrating the fact that Chrissy's twin sister (also played by Danielle) is participating in the Olympics.
Karl played Paul, Chrissy's one-night stand who also happens to be the cameraman helping to tape the family's reaction to the Olympic competition. He ends up being a friend to Chrissy as well. I enjoyed the movie very much. Including Karl... especially Karl. Karl was nominated for NZ Best Supporting Actor.)
