The Education of Max Bickford

Patrick played Josh Howlett, a young, horndog associate professor at an all-girls school called Chadwick College. He taught medieval poetry and, I'm assuming, some other English classes. He was a pal/coworker of Max (Richard Dreyfuss), but unfortunately, he wasn't on as much as he should have been.

In the following snaps from The Pilot, he is talking about or gawking at women in every scene. The other guy in almost every shot has the fun job of being the one to give him "the look" every time Josh says something inappropriate. In the first scene shown, he's gawking at new teacher Andrea Haskell (Marcia Gay Harden) and encouraging Max to go talk to her. In the second scene he's commenting on a girl walking by outside and gawking at the Erica (Helen Shaver), who was previously a man. And in the steamroom scene he's discussing how hot Erica now is and how it's not fair she gets to go into the women's steamroom, and he talks about a student who's madly in love with him. Except the other guy doesn't seem to be in the steamroom so Josh doesn't get "the look" this time.
